General Information

This is a platformer game originally designed and developed by TOSE, and released in 2005.

It is the very first Mario game to feature the lovely lady as the primary playable character.

As usual the plot involves abduction. However, this time it is Mario and Luigi themselves that have been kidnapped by the most evil Bowser, and imprisoned on Vibe Island. It is up to PP to traverse through 8 different Mario themed worlds and to rescue the Mario brothers from captivity.

During the game she displays a crazy array of fun special abilities, like being able to catch fire and burn through walls, use her tears to grow plants, spin like a whirlwind to clear enemies, and many more.

There are 40 levels in total (5 for each of the 8 different worlds), and each world has a boss to vanquish.

Little use is made of both the touch screen and the microphone. The game is a 2D side-scroller in the classic Nintendo genre, with the most notable feature being the role reversal of the main characters. Having a pretty lady as the main playable character probably means the game was targeted at young girls, and it has proven to be a winning solution having sold more than a million copies.

Hints

Dashbrella : This is an unlockable move that allows you to attack at the same time that you are dashing. In order to unlock this move, and make it available, you have to have beaten the game at least once, then you can just press the "Y" key or the "B" key to use it whenever you are moving.

Endless Fever special ability : This is a very handy special ability that stops your emotion meter from ever getting less. In order to unlock this you have to complete all of the game levels at least twice (including all the minigames and puzzles). When you are done then you can move to the shop where it will be the very last item available for you to buy. It costs nothing.

Unlock level 8-6 : If you get every toad from every area of the game then this level will be unlocked for you.

Endless money pit : You can get a never-ending supply of money. In order to do this you must have the charge soda, then proceed to 5-2. Use joy until you can move across and see the platform, which you must get on to and leap over the warp pipe. Smack all of the koopas that you see there and you will see 5 coins pop out of each one. Proceed on to the following warp pipe, and repeat. Thats it !! You will have a continuous amount of money now.
